The Pleasley Pit Mining Museum tells the story of coal production through its historic buildings and exhibits, lovingly restored by former mineworkers, volunteers, and members of the Pleasley Pit Trust.
This Mobile Guide and Booklet were funded by the Institute of Knowledge Exchange Practice at Nottingham Trent University as part of the mining heritage project, ‘Mine-craft the Prequel: The Photographic Story of East Midlands Coal’.
The project team, Natalie Braber, David Amos, and Paul Fillingham, acknowledge the assistance of The Coal Authority, Chad Newspaper Group, Derbyshire Records Office, private collectors and members of the local mining community who have supported the project.
